Brian Ball

Managing Director

Joining Advent in 1986, Brian is one of Australia’s most experienced
private equity investment directors. He has participated in the fund
raising, portfolio development, management and sale of investments
for several generations of Advent Funds. He has been chairman or a
director on the boards of over 20 Advent investees.

Prior to joining Advent, Brian played a pivotal role in helping establish
the Australian venture capital industry. He was Secretary and Member
of the Espie Committee that recommended Australia’s first VC Program,
the MIC Program. Brian was then responsible for leading the design and
implementation of the MIC Program and MIC Licensing Board. Brian holds
a Bachelor of Economics degree from Monash University and has also
attended numerous specialised courses in finance and general management.
